I found these and found them beautiful. I guess it stems from my deep fascination with native Americans and their various cultures and tribes. Which in turn probably stems from my love of leather, feather earrings and beads… hahaha! Just kidding!
But kind of seriously… I guess an interest in certain fashions could spark an interest in the cultures behind them. So, it might be true! I suppose more than anything, though, it’s the way they lived so entwined with nature that really gets my heart beating faster.
But, back to the photos… They just don’t make portrait photographs like they used to, do they?
BTW I want to post old photos like these every Wednesday – A different theme for every week. So, there’s something to look forward to 🙂 (for me anyway!)
Amazing pictures and good idea!
I agree, the pictures are beautiful, but also kind of sad I think.
I was in spur the other day and thought it was interesting how the idea of native americans resonated so well, but that ultimately it was just successful commodification of a past culture.
Hey Jenna! Yes, I totally agree… didn’t mention it in the post, but I also find them incredibly sad. Especially the two older men in the 1st and 3rd pictures… they’re so noble, yet seem defeated. Very sad.
And Spur… Never thought about it much, but ya! What an odd theme for a restaurant…
Thanks for the comment! 😀
